13. John⁴ SUNDERLAND (John³, John², James¹) was born in Cumberland, England 1827. John died 29 September 1864 in Emerald Hills, Victoria, Australia, at 37 years of age.

He married Caroline MOTT in Rochdale, Lancashire, England, 5 July 1848. Caroline was born in Manchester, England 25 May 1831. Caroline was the daughter of Charles MOTT. Caroline died 27 August 1915 in Horsham, Victoria, Australia, at 84 years of age.

John SUNDERLAND and Caroline MOTT had the following children:

+ 22 i. William⁵ SUNDERLAND was born 1850.

23 ii. Caroline SUNDERLAND was born in Manchester, Lancashire, England 24 October 1852. Caroline died November 1852 at less than one year of age.

24 iii. John SUNDERLAND was born in Lancasshire, England 1854. John died 22 July 1883 in Stawell, Victoria, Australia, at 29 years of age.

25 iv. Caroline Louisa SUNDERLAND was born in Liverpool, England 1856. Caroline died 1922 in Maryborough, Victoria, Australia, at 66 years of age.

26 v. Charles SUNDERLAND was born in Emerald Hills, Victoria, Australia 1859. Charles died 1860 in Emerald Hills, Victoria, Australia, at 1 year of age.

27 vi. Joseph SUNDERLAND was born in Emerald Hills, Victoria, Australia 1861. Joseph died 3 November 1929 in Geelong West, Victoria, Australia, at 68 years of age.

28 vii. Sarah Jane SUNDERLAND was born in Emerald Hills, Victoria, Australia 1863. Sarah died 28 June 1922 in Horsham, Victoria, Australia, at 58 years of age.
